Bridging Mindfulness & Art: A Workshop Series

Bridging Mindfulness & Art: A Workshop Series

It is with an anticipatory heart that I invite you to join me in my first art workshop offerings - bridging both my experiences in yoga teaching and my passion for art to bring you these first 2 workshop events:

Mindful Mandala: Patterns of Nature
11 Jan 2025 (Sat)
10.30-12.30pm
Blossom Room @ Project Seeds, Bishan Park

We’ll begin with a peaceful 30-minute nature walk, gathering leaves, stones, and flowers that spark curiosity. This immersive experience invites us to connect deeply with the natural world, noticing its intricate textures, vibrant colors, and delicate patterns while cultivating a sense of calm and presence.

Back indoors, we’ll take time to observe and sketch the natural elements we’ve collected, appreciating their unique details like shapes, symmetry, and textures. Guided by Angeline, we’ll transform these observations into our own distinctive mandalas, discovering a steady, flowing rhythm that centres and balances us.

This workshop bridges mindful outdoor exploration with a meditative art practice, resulting in a unique mandala that embodies our connection to the natural world.

Embracing Imperfections: Watercolour Workshop
16 Feb 2025 (Sun)
3.00pm-5.00pm
Blossom Room @ Project Seeds, Bishan Park

In this workshop, we’ll explore the art of letting go and finding peace in life’s uncertainties. This creative journey invites us to embrace spontaneity, celebrate imperfections, and uncover calm through artistic expression.

The session will begin with an introduction to simple watercolour techniques, focusing on the wet-on-wet method, where pigments blend and flow freely. Using natural elements like leaves and flowers as inspiration, we’ll create a larger piece, incorporating free-flowing brushstrokes to allow colours to merge naturally.

The way I see it, there are many pathways towards mindfulness. I first began my journey in it through my yoga practice and teaching, and organically allowing it to flow into various areas of my life and passions. Mindfulness is not an activity but a way of living, it can be seen as a skill to be cultivated to help us achieve balance in this busy, multitasking world. If art sounds like it could be one of the ways for you to appreciate the small things in life, I invite you to join me in this workshop series.
